Youmacon was a lot of fun. And
while I was there I got quite a few of what I would call good
pictures. Grant it, there isn't very many, only like 30 that I
was able to take on my digital camera, while I still have to
take another 16 pics on my 35mm before I can turn that one in
and develop it. So basically, as soon as that happens I will
update this page with the new pictures. One of the cool things
about this partiqular convention is that I staffed it, so I have
quite a few pictures of things that went on behind the scenes.
Like I got a picture of all the guests waiting behind main
programming right before opening cerimonies. So as a
comprehensive collection of pictures from this convention my
collection surrely is not, but I think I have a few pics that
not many others have seen. So here they are, my Youmacon 2005
picture collection. |

 |
| Ever wondered what the inside of a
staffers room looks like. Well, here you go. This is a prime
picture of my staff room on Thursday night, before it was
trashed. Playing on the TV is my Sailor Moon AMV, we had to have
a tie breaker in the staff category so we picked up another
staffer running around and had them judge both videos. |
 |
| Ah, my baby, my child, my life, my
wonderful computer, and Ruu's too! This is one of the last times
that my baby would be in my room safe the entire weekend. It is
also one of the last times it was able to use the RCA to S-video
adapter that I have, for somehow it got lost during the length
of the convention. |
 |
| Prime picture of the waiting area
outside the dealers room. You can also see registration, artist
alley, and a lot of people paitently waiting for our dealers to
be ready to accept customers. |
 |
| The dealers room before attendees
were allowed in. Not for very long after this shot was taken was
this room this devoid of people. |
 |
| Another shot of the dealers room
during setup time. So much stuff was packed in here, and so much
stuff that was here was gone not two hours after this. |
 |
| Main programing before opening
cermonies began. As you can see, we are missing one of the
integral pieces we needed for opening cerimonies, a projector
and screen. You can see staff talking with our guests informing
them of what is going on. |
 |
| You can see more staff trying to
figure out alternative ways to procure a projector and screen
right here. By now we found out that our guy bringing the
equipment got stuck in traffic on I75 behind three seperate
accidents. Needless to say, he wouldn't be here for a while. |
 |
| There's me and my computer. We
finally found a projector and screen we could gank from another
department and are running sound and video tests to be sure
everything is working and ready to go for our attendees waiting
outside the doors. |
 |
| And here's our projector and
screen. As you can see things are working properly. Trust me,
the sound is working properly as well. Looks like we are a go on
the technical front. |
 |
| A picture of our guests just
moments before the doors opened and attendees started flowing
into main programing for opening cermonies. |
 |
| And here you all come. Doors have
been opened, the DDR Project 4 AMV is playing, and people are
finally able to take a seat and witness the spectacle that is
opening cerimonies. |
 |
| Everyone seems to be enjoying out
pre-cerimonies movie. People are still pouring in and the space
we have for seating is starting to fill up. |
 |
| A pic taken from the back of the
room. Looks like some of the staff have brought out light
sabers. Not too long from now will we begin. |
 |
| Just moments away from the start,
some staffers are discussing how things are going and getting
syched up over finally being able to get the convention under
way. Sorry, but I lack pictures of the actual opening cerimonies.
However, for those looking to see the opening video that will be
uploaded soon to Youmacon's site. |
 |
| Our registration staff enjoying
the break between attendees coming in to register. I'm sure many
of you had the chance to see these ladies during the course of
the convention. |
 |
| A picture I just had to get. What
a play. Nothing greater then seeing a starlight bowing before
the fireball princess ^^ |
 |
| Friday night, some attendees are
playing around with light sabers in the lobby. |
 |
| Another pic of the same thing. |
 |
| How about a close up ^^ |
 |
| So, the conventions over, and the
staff are tired. However that's not stopping them from having a
good time. Welcome to staff after party 2k5! As you can see,
with a little help from some selective drinks our staff are able
to rave to the music in their own heads. |
 |
| OH NOES! We've been invaded by
hostile ACEN staff weilding light sabers. Quick, run away!!! |
 |
| Security to the rescue. In no time
flat were we able to subdue the attacker. Everything is alright
folks, I am still all here. |
 |
| Nothing makes a party without
having a few computers hooked up and displaying stuff on a
projector ^^ Great movie... no so great screen. |
 |
| Oh nOES, he's at it again! Quick,
defend yourself against the angry attacker! |
 |
| Hey, you two, yeah you! Jump in
and help the poor lady out! He is much too power for her. What?
You're too lazy? Geeze, so much for good help! |
 |
| Ah yes, traumatized by the sight
that can only be described as the Drunk Naked Bear, this poor
staff member may never be able to enter a hotel bathroom the
same way again. Poor poor soul. |
 |
| See! If you had jumped
in earlier you wouldn't have to be defending yourself against
the attacker. But look, now you are! When will you silly people
learn? A quick kick to the shin from behind is the way to go. |
|
 |
| Nothing like a good smoke break to
ease the stress of working a convention. Wait, its over now. So
why are you out here relaxing? Oh yeah, running away from the
light saber. Smart choice my friends. |
 |
| Heheh, nothing like a good look at
the lovely liquor stash. Or what's left of it after 5 hours of
partying. What's in that bowl you ask? Why nothing else other
then the famous LCL! What's in it you ask? I don't know, and so
neither will you :P |
 |
| And for our final picture, a
moonscape. Yeah, I know, isn't very exciting. But if you squint
hard enough you might just be able to see my car in the parking
lot there. Come on, try harder! WIMP :P |
So there
you have it. Nat-chan's pictures from Youmacon 2k5! Remember, Youmacon
rocks the big ONE!!1!!!1!11!!!1!1 So you better come back next year!
